This is the second logo of Volvo. The logo is the name of the company designed in black on a transparent background. The logo is designed in customized Times New Roman with all capitalized letters.

This is the first logo of Volvo. The logo is a 2 nested oval. The first layer is dark rusted golden colored and the second layer has royal blue color fill. The center of the oval has the name of the company designed in white with all capitalized letters using a customized Times New Roman font type. Below the word Volvo is a white ribbon with thin golden border, this ribbon has the address of the company “Gothenburg  Sweden” designed in golden with all capitalized letters using a customized Calibri Body font type.

Company Overview

The Volvo Group is a multinational manufacturing corporation based in Sweden. The company was founded in 1927 by Gustav Larson and Assar Gabrielsson. The company is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and the company manufactures industrial and marine engines, construction equipment, buses, and trucks.

The company was first established in 1911 to work for SKF to make new type of ball bearings. In 1924, Gustav who was an engineer at KTH and Assar who was a sales manager at SKF decided to launch a car business. The aim was to build cars that could drive on rough roads. The company launched its first 10 prototypes in 1926 and among these was the famous model Volvo OV 4.

The company launched its first “Series 1” trucks in 1928 and saw an instant success. The first bus of Volvo was launched in 1934 and was named B1 and the company also started working on aircraft engines by 1940. As of 2023, the company successfully generated net income of $49+ billion and has 104,000 employees working around the world.
