Suzuki is named after its founder, Michio Suzuki. It’s a common practice for Japanese companies to be named after their founders (other examples include Honda, Toyota, and Yamaha).
Initially, Suzuki manufactured weaving looms. In 1937, Suzuki started manufacturing small cars, but it had to stop due to World War II. After the war, in 1952, Suzuki successfully re-entered the automotive field by manufacturing bicycle engines And has since become a global automotive leader.
Its primary product lines include automobiles such as compact hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, and even small trucks. Suzuki is also a big player in the motorcycle market. It manufactures sportbikes, cruisers, scooters, and off-road bikes. It is a significant supplier of outboard marine engines for various boat types. Besides transportation, Suzuki also produces ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) and wheelchairs.
