SSC was founded by Jerod Shelby in 1999 and it is headquartered in Richland, Washington, USA. The company manufactures sports cars. It was previously known as Shelby Super Cars. After the settlement with Carroll Shelby Licensing and Carroll Shelby International, the company was named SSC North America in 2012.
The first prototype was named as SSC Ultimate Aero which was introduced in 2004. This prototype broke the record of Ferrari Enzo on Road & Track magazine’s slalom course in 2006. The same car also made a Guinness World Record for the being the fastest car in 2007; speeding up to 414.13km/h which is 257mph. The company announced its electric car in 2008 which was called Ultimate Aero EV and its first prototype was introduced in 2009.
