Scion was an automotive brand of Toyota that started in 2003 and ended in 2016. These cars were only available for the U.S. and the Canadian market. The company’s aim was to launch vehicles for the young customers who could afford sports compact cars with stylish designs. In 2006, Scion sales skyrocketed and in 2010, the company was expanded in Canada. The sales went down in USA due to the financial crisis of 2007-2008.
This is why Toyota had to close the brand in 2016. Toyota wanted to launch a project named “Project Genesis” which had the same idea and the aim. The company launched initial models; Toyota Celica, Toyota MR-2, and Toyota Echo. These models failed in 2001 and the company launched another project named “Project Exodus”, it was renamed to Scion. The Scion cars were displayed at the 2002 New York Auto Show. Another set of cars were displayed at the 2003 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show.
The slogan of Scion is “What Moves You”.
Scion xB was designed by Hiroaki Suzuki.
The first Scion car was launched in 2003.
