The bicycle chainset in Scania’s logo indicates that it manufactures vehicles, while the griffin symbol above it indicates Scania’s connection with the Swedish province, also known as Skåne. In addition, Griffin represents Scania’s heavy and fast speed, which perfectly matches Scania’s vehicles.

This is the current version of the company logo. The outline of the gryphon in this logo is grey, while the emblem is light blue, which provides a 3D look. Below the emblem is Scania, written in bold blue capital letters. All its letters are joined together, but only N and I are not joined together. It is a modern logo, but it also aligns perfectly with the company’s heritage.

When Scania and Saab split in 1995, Scania started using the old version of their logo. But it is less stylish and minimal than previous logos. The logo contained the Scania wordmark below the emblem.

When Scania and Saab merged, the company used only the Scania wordmark logo. But in 1984, the company redesigned the logo. This logo has a blue-filled circle on the background, and above this circle, there are two more circles that are overlapped. In the upper part of the overlapping, SAAB is in bold white font, and in the lower part, Scania is in bold white capital letters. In the central part, the Griffin is in red with a white outline and a golden crown on its head.

When Scania and Saab merged in 1969, the company’s logo was simple. It consists only of a silver wordmark, Scania. All the letters of the wordmark are bold and capitalized, connected by a small line at the bottom. The company also used the blue version of this logo.

In this logo, the company changed the wordmark from Maskinfabriks Aktiebolaget Scania to “Aktiebolaget Scania-Vabis”, as Scania had merged with Vabis in 1911. In addition, Griffin is in brother colour while inside the pedal is in tone style instead of dots.

Scania’s first logo is a stylized cycle pedal with a griffin’s head painted in red. A gryphon is a mythological creature with the head, chest, and wings of an eagle and the body, legs, and tail of a lion. Griffin is looking left. This stylized pedal has a blue circle above its perimeter with the company name Maskinfabriks Aktiebolaget Scania in capital golden letters. The top of the Griffin’s head bears Malmo, the city in Sweden and the company’s founding place.
