Polestar Automotive Holding UK PLC is an automotive company that manufactures electric vehicles. The company was owned by Volvo Cars and it is headquartered in Sweden. Polestar manufactures cars in different parts of the world including South Korea, the U.S., and China. The company was started via Flash Engineering which is also a Swedish motorsport team that was founded in 1996 that managed to compete in Scandinavian Touring Car Championship and Swedish Touring Car Championship.

This company was sold in 2005 and was renamed to Polestar Racing. After some years, it also started car tuning division called Polestar Performance AB. In 2015, the company was again acquired by Volvo and was renamed to Polestar and it started manufacturing electric vehicles since 2017.
