Plymouth is an automotive company owned and launched by Chrysler Corporation. It was founded in 1928 and was closed in 2001. The company became the biggest seller in the 1990s. The company was introduced in 1928 at the Madison Square Garden. This was the only automaker that gave a tough time to Chevrolet and Ford since these cars were low-priced and gave comfort of high-performing vehicles. The starting price of these cars started from $695.
The name of the company was chosen by Joe Frazer. The origins of the company is traced back to early 1920s when it was called Maxwell Automobile. This company was bought by Walter P. Chrysler and he used the company’s manufacturing facilities to launch Chrysler’s 6 vehicles in 1924. In 1928, Maxwell Automobile was completely taken over by Chrysler.
