Mitsubishi is a group of autonomous multinational companies based in Japan. The company deals in different industries. It was founded by Yataro Iwasaki in 1870 and its headquarters is located in Tokyo, Japan. The company was first doing shipping business under the name Tsukumo Shokai from 1834 to 1885. The company changed its name to Mitsubishi Shokai in 1873 and it then entered the coal mining business and this is why it required ships to trade internationally.

After continuous success, the company started manufacturing aircraft and related equipment and entered other trading businesses as well. After 1881, the company did all sorts of businesses like warehousing, insurance, banking, and it also dealt in real estate, oil, aircraft, electrical equipment, glass, steel, and paper. The company became a conglomerate in that era.
