The McLaren Motor Racing Company’s M1B took 43 victories in the Can-Am championship and began its rise. Bruce McLaren died in 1970, but the company continued its journey of success.
1980 McLaren merged with Ron Dennis’s Project 4 Racing team, and designer John Barnard returned. Using carbon fiber with the help of John Barnard, the company created the MP4/1 car.
