Maybach is a luxury car brand in Germany that was founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach and his son Karl Maybach. Its headquarters is in Stuttgart, Germany and it produces luxury vehicles only. The founder was a technical director at DMG (Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft) and left the job in 1907. He founded his company after 2 years and named it Luftfahrzeug-Motorenbau GmbH (Aircraft Engine Building Company).
The company was renamed to Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH (Maybach Engine Construction Company) in 1912. The company first manufactured petrol and diesel engines for rail cars and Zeppelins. The first car was designed and launched in 1919, it was an experimental car. The company started to manufacture different vehicles in 1921.
The first Maybach logo was designed by the founder himself, Wilhelm Maybach.
The latest Maybach logo was designed by Virgil Abloh.
The slogan of Maybach is “The Best or Nothing”.
