Its current Executive Chair is Daniel Ninivaggi. Lordstown wanted to revive the General Motors assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio. The company went bankrupt in September 2023 and reemerged as Nu Ride Inc. in March 2024. The founder was a former CEO of Workhorse Group. The company was founded and instantly became the owner of General Motors Lordstown plant.

Lordstown launched a vehicle named Endurance which was an electric pickup truck. It got famous for featuring hub motors in all four wheels allowing it to simplify maintenance and enhance off-roading capabilities.
