Of all the car brands, if we talk about Jeep, its story is the most interesting. The story of Jeep starts in 1940. When World War II started in 1940, the American Army needed vehicles that could go anywhere easily. To build these vehicles, he approached 135 brands, out of which he selected two for the job. Those two brands were Bantam and Willys Overland.
The Army gave only 49 days to complete this task. When Willys asked for more time, the US refused. After that, Bantam started making this design. Bantam approached Karl Probst to create the design, but he declined. Then the US Army contacted Karl Probst, he produced the design within two days.
The Army realized that Bantam didn’t have the manpower to build the cars at such a high rate, so he outsourced the design to Ford and Willys. And from here started making Jeep. Well, these vehicles played a huge role in winning the war.
Willys began to advertise that their designed cars had played a major role in winning the war. On which other brands protested a lot. But Willys didn’t listen to anyone, and in 1943, applied for Jeep trademarks, which was approved in 1945 after manufacturing the first civilian Jeep.
Since then, they have manufactured many vehicles, such as pickup trucks, small vans, and sports SUVs as well. In 1987, Chrysler bought it from AMC. If we talk about its net worth, it is estimated that the net worth of Jeep is around 40 billion. By 2022, its sales have seen a significant decrease. But still, the Jeep is famous all over the world, and it is spread all over the world.
The first model of the Jeep was Willy's Quad, which was specially designed for the American army.
Jeep originated as a result of army requirements. First, it was the effort of three automotive brands Bantam, Willys and Ford.
Jeep COMPASS (MP) is the latest model of Jeep.
Jeep is set to launch its electric models in 2024 in the US.
