Isuzu Motors Limited is a multinational automobile manufacturing company based in Japan. It was founded in 1934 by Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd and Yoshisuke Aikawa and the company’s headquarters is based in Yokohama. The company manufactures passenger cars, diesel generators, diesel engines, and commercial vehicles.
The company is rooted back to 1916 when the Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Company and Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd decided to launch an automobile company. The company got rights to manufacture cars in 1918 and after a year, the company launched a car named Wolseley. After the 1923 earthquake, the company had to import construction trucks from GMC and Ford. Since this was an extra expense so In 1927, Isuzu introduced its first domestic truck Sumida M-Type.
The company has a tagline instead of a slogan and that is “Reliability is Everything”.
Isuzu is now owned by Toyota Motor Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation, and Mitsubishi Corporation.
The latest car of Isuzu is ISUZU D-MAX.
