The Hudson Motor Car Company was founded by Joseph L. Hudson, Roy D. Chapin, and A. E. Barit. It was founded in 1909 and was closed in 1954 and was headquartered in Michigan, USA. Joseph was the founder of the Hudson’s Departmental Store; he provided the capital to start the company to 8 other founders. This is why the company was named after him. The company manufactured the first car in the founding year and was priced at $1000.
The Hudson launched a car named Twenty became the most famous in that era and in the first year, they sold more than 4500 units. The company became one of the most known companies to sell this many units in the founding year. After the war, the company was finding it difficult to keep up with the finances and the production. In 1954, Hudson was merged with Nash-Kelvinator which letter became AMC.
