Li Shufu founded Geely Auto in 1997. Its products are affordable and have advanced features and modern design. The company manufactures cars for various market segments to ensure a broad customer base both in China and internationally.
Geely acquired Volvo Cars from Ford in 2010 which was a good milestone for the company. This enhanced Geely’s technological capabilities and global footprint. It utilized Volvo’s safety, design, and engineering expertise to enhance its products. Geely also owns several other automotive brands, including Lynk & Co. Geely has a stake in Daimler AG which is the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, and acquired the British sports car manufacturer Lotus.
Geely Holding owns Geely Auto, London Electric Vehicle Company, Polestar, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, Volvo Cars, Lotus, Farizon, RADAR, and Cao Cao Mobility.
Volvo is a public limited company and its shares are traded on the Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchange. However still, Geely is a major shareholder of Volvo but does not own it 100%.
