BYD Auto Co., LTD is an multinational automotive manufacturing company which is a subsidiary of BYD Company. The company was founded in 2003 by Wang Chuanfu and its headquarters is in Guangdong, China. It produces new energy vehicles like plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and passenger battery electric vehicles. The company also deals in manufacturing electric buses and trucks.
The company was founded after Wang acquired Xi’an Qinchuan Automobile. The company entered the industry in 2005 after launching its first car BYD F3. BYD launched a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in 2008 naming BYD F3DM and this was the era when some of the most famous car manufacturing companies were thinking about the concept of hybrid electric vehicles.
The slogan of BYD is “Build Your Dreams”. The slogan is also considered as the abbreviation of the letters.
The BYD Dolphin car was designed by Ocean Aesthetics.
