It was the first crest logo of Buick which resembles the coat of arms of the founder family. It was in orange color, with a diagonal line inside the shield, dividing it into two parts. Deer which suggests speed was also in shield on the upper right side and a golden cross on the below left side.
1930
In 1930, the designer removed the square from the logo. The logo was in red color, with a new typeface, with less space between letters. There are no tails of B and the logo has a silver outline. Below the logo, word 8 is written in the same color. Word 8 shows eight-cylinder power of the Buick vehicle engine of that era.
1913
In 1913, the company changed its logo. It is a wordmark logo with an underline. The logo is in a diagonal position, almost 45 degrees, placed on a blue-colored square that has a broad white border.

It is a wordmark logo. The first letter B is enlarged and other letters U, I, C, and K are placed inside it. Two arms of K and curved lines of B share the same lines, giving it an interesting look.
1905
In 1905, the logo switched from a globe to a badge or emblem. It was made of brass with a thick border and in the border, there was a slogan “The Car of Quality”. The background of the badge was black with the name of the brand on it. The name was in a handwritten typeface. This logo first appeared on Model C in 1905.
1903
The first logo of Buick was designed in 1903. The company used this logo for only two years. The logo consisted of a globe, showing all continents, oceans, parallels and meridian lines. Uncle Sam, which is a historic symbol of the US Government, is walking around the globe with a small car cart. In the center of the globe, the word, KNOWN ALL OVER THE WORLD, was written and on the below side of the globe, THE BUICK MOTOR COMPANY FLINT MICH. U.S.A. was written. It was one of the most interesting logos in the automotive industry.
Company Overview
Buick is an automotive brand known for selling luxury vehicles. It is positioned above the Chevrolet and below the Cadillac. Buick vehicles are sold alongside GMC vehicles at multi-brand dealerships in North America.
General Motors founder, William C. Durant, played an important role in expanding Buick’s production and success. As an investor and general manager of Buick, he incorporated Buick Motors into General Motors in 1908. And ultimately Buick became a division of General Motors.
To save on resources, automotive manufacturers such as Buick, Chevrolet, Oakland, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac, shared a common platform under General Motors.
World War II era was a difficult era for automotive manufacturers because automobile production stopped in 1942. However, Buick took it as an advantage and produced the M18 Hellcat tank destroyer and supplied radial engines for military aircraft.
After World War II, in 1953, Buick introduced the Buick V8 engine and Roadmaster Skylark to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Buick has always introduced many features before its competitors. In 2012, Buick introduced eAssist technology on the LaCrosse and Regal to manufacture hybrid cars. This technology led to a reduction of 38% in fuel costs. In June 2022, Buick Global Chief Duncan Aldred announced that Buick would transition its entire lineup to electric vehicles by 2030.
Buick 2024 models are the Envista and Encore GX subcompact crossovers, the Envision compact crossover, and the Enclave mid-size crossover in the North American market. It is one of China’s most popular, best-selling automobiles as well. Except for China, it also sells its vehicles in Mexico and Canada.
Buick and Chevy are competitors of each other in the North American market. Both are divisions of General Motors.
Buick is a luxury brand. But it also manufactures vehicles that are more reliable than luxury. It is positioned above Chevrolet and below Cadillac in terms of luxury vehicles.
Buick vehicles are currently manufactured in China and the United States. The production facilities in China fulfill the needs of the local market and global exports, while the United States plants focus on producing vehicles for the North American market.
