ABT Sportsline is an auto tuning and a motor racing company. The company was founded in 1896 by Johann Abt in Germany. The company auto tunes and upgrades Volkswagen Group brands like SEAT and Skoda. ABT modify the car’s aerodynamics, lightweight wheels, engine power upgrades, and suspension components. The company has enabled different motor companies to win international level races.
The company was started by Johann Abt’s father in 1896 and at that time, the company used to trade in blacksmithing and horseshoeing. Abt’s son Johann was a hillclimbing and motorcycling racer for Abarth till 1970. After his father’s death, Johann took over the company. As he entered the company with his own car, he bagged the Trophee de I’Avenir. The company’s name was changed to ABT Sportsline GmbH in 1991.
